Best known for her roles in Bend it like Beckham, and Pirates of the Caribbean, Keira Knightley is one of today's most promising young actresses. While growing up, Keira was already surrounded by the entertainment business because of her parents. She was the daughter of the daughter of playwright Sharmon Macdonald, and actor Will Knightley. Keira made her film debut in a film called A Village Affair and went on later to have other small roles in movies such as Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace. One of her first major projects was The Hole, a movie about teenagers trapped in an old war bunker. After the thriller, Keira starred in a most notable adaptation of the movie Doctor Zhivago in the form of a mini series. In this series Keira played the co-starring lead role of Lara. From there on she had her breakthrough role in Bend It Like Beckham, and has gone on to greater roles. Keira also models for Asprey, a British Luxury company and is in the upcomming sequel Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Man's Chest..Lately in Keira's photographed life, she has been seen with her new beau, Pride and Prejudice star Rupert Friend.
